What would you love to create?
Welcome! My name is Tracy Loring. I am an Artist, Facilitator, Consultant, and Creative Coach.
My mission is to create experiences that help you tap into the most creative part of yourself, maximize your potential, and create what you would love in your life.
Whether it's trying to identify and solve a business problem, create a vision and strategy to drive results, align your team, engage your workforce, or create the personal life you would love, I help you get clarity on what you are trying to achieve and put structures in place to help you achieve it.
Deep down inside, I've always been a teacher. In college, I majored in pre-medicine/psychology and had several counseling jobs. I especially loved being an academic counselor where I helped other students align their academic path to what gave them joy.
My first teaching gig was teaching art classes on the weekends in college. I loved it so much that after graduation, I started working full time teaching art and doing trade shows for a local rubber stamp company. My favorite thing about teaching was watching how the same set of supplies could result in such different pieces of art. I loved seeing how we all view the world through our own lenses.
For family reasons, I ended up in Silicon Valley and needed to find a new career path. I decided to focus on my love of teaching and started working in learning and development teams in technology companies. I noticed that when people bring their whole selves to work it's amazing what they can create. My favorite part about working in tech companies was the fast pace and working with people who were driven to create great things. I spent over 20 years in the tech industry in CA and TX creating and teaching courses, facilitating workshops, leading learning and development teams, and coaching individuals and leaders to reach their potential.
While I was successful in my business life, I wasn't fulfilled in my personal life. Something was missing. I started working with a coach who introduced me to the Creative Orientation - the process of intentionally creating what you would love in your life. I learned tools and resources to help me see what was holding me back and focus my energy on what I wanted to create. I became more compassionate for others, for myself, and was amazed at how much joy was suddenly in my world. This sense of joy and fulfillment carried into my business life where I started to bring creative principles in my day-to-day work. I became a happier leader, co-worker, wife, friend, mother, and overall human. It became clear that it was time for me to share what I had learned and guide others in creating the same joy and fulfillment in their lives.
One of my favorite quotes is attributed to Pablo Picasso -
"The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away."
I've learned over time that my gift is helping people see the greatness in themselves and get out of their own way to achieve it.
Creative Principles in Action
In every experience I design and deliver, I include elements that help people reach for their highest potential, visualize what they would love, and gather the insights they need to take action. Whether you are attending one of my art or business workshops, partnering with me to consult on your learning and development solution, or working with me in one-to-one coaching, I infuse creative principles into everything I do. Sometimes I even throw a little paint into the mix.
I love to inspire, to teach, and to create art. One of my favorite things about teaching is seeing the joy in my student's faces as they connect with their pure creative spirit and behold their creations.
I believe that art is about self expression and evoking an emotional reaction from the viewer, even if that viewer is only ever yourself. We are all artists creating and expressing who we are in the world. Yet somehow over time, many of us lose our connection with our inner artist. An underlying theme in all of my workshops is connecting you to that budding artist inside waiting to break free.
Facilitation and Consulting
As an experienced coach, facilitator, instructional designer, and learning and development program leader, I focus on strategies to kick start your team building and design end-to-end development solutions that close performance gaps and create measurable impact.
I specialize in:
Global Program Management
Interpersonal Conflict Management
Communication Best Practices
When I started teaching art workshops, I observed there was often a barrier that people had to overcome before they could let go and enjoy what they created. In my corporate career, I noticed a similar observation in the workplace. There was often something that held people back from communicating clearly or behaving in ways that helped them achieve success.
Over time I've come to realize that we have the ability to rise above the trappings of our day to day and tap into a different part of ourselves - the part of ourselves where true creativity lies. Once you get to that place, the sky's the limit in what you can create in your life.
With one-to-one coaching, my goal is to help my clients identify the limiting beliefs and resulting behaviors that are holding them back. I help them re-focus on the vision of what they are trying to create, and provide tools and resources to help them live a more compassionate and joyful life while creating what they would love.
“Learning is finding out what you already know.
Doing is demonstrating that you know it.
Teaching is reminding others that they know just as well as you."
